There are hundreds of music festivals all around the world, from night-time parties to week-long events with the top international DJs of the moment, some of whom are residents DJs at Ushuaïa Ibiza. We’ve made a selection of offerings so you don’t have to stop the beat this winter.

Music, snow and adventure in the French Alps. This is what Rise Festival has been bringing the eager crowds for the last five winters in Europe’s largest ski glacier. From 15 to 22 December this year, artists include Annie Mac, Camelphat, David Rodign, Richy Ahmed and Sonny Fedora. Picture yourself dancing among the clouds above a blanket of snowy white with jaw-dropping mountain peak views, including breath-taking Mont Blanc just 100 kilometres away. This is one of 2019’s most complete electronic music festivals… coming to you all the way from the top of the world: ski by day, party by night… and take in some of the best music ever!

If you don’t have New Year’s Eve plan yet and you want your 2019 kick-off to be a little different, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Festival could just be your plan! From 30 December to 1 January, the Scottish city of Edinburgh will be hosting a ton of events stretching long into the night, bidding a fond farewell to the by-gone year with the music of Franz Ferdinand, Metronomy, Free Love, Symphonic Ibiza and many more.

A great plan for this winter would be to escape for a weekend into the heart of the Netherlands to admire its castles, stroll along its canals and cycle around cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Utrecht. There, you’ll also find some of the best music festivals of 2019! On 26 January next, Transwijk Park in Utrecht will be transformed once again into the wonderland that is Sneeuwbal Festival. Workshops, circus tents, vintage fairground attractions, ice-skating rinks and, of course, the best of house, techno, electronic, dance and EDM music awaits you! Check out the line-up and don’t forget to wrap up warm because temps can be really chilly.

If you decide to extend your stay in the Netherlands for another week, on 2 February you’ve got a date with underground techno in Eindhoven. The Awakenings Eindhoven music festival attracts clubbers from all the corners of the world, with its high-end production and first-class line-up, with names like Amelie Lens, Ben Klock, Joris Voorn, and Adam Beyer, among others. 3 stages, 15 artists and 7 hours of music.

Can you imagine experiencing the magic of Tomorrowland smack bang in the middle of the French Alps? From 9 to 16 March, the little French village of Alpe d’Huez shuts down. Why? To make way for one of the most eagerly-awaited electronic music festivals of 2019! Only the 30,000 lucky ticket-holders will gain entry to the village for the best electronic sounds around with Armin van Buuren, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Afrojack, Nervo… Experience the music at over two thousand metres in altitude!

If all you want to do is ski and dance to the best live music, the Rock The Pistes music festival is for you! Get yourself to Portes de Soleil, a spectacular enclave nestled in the French and Swiss Alps, from 17 to 23 March for the ninth edition of this rocking high-altitude festival. Big names like Charlie Winston, Hyphen Hyphen and Gaetan Roussel have already confirmed. Getting in some snowboarding between stages and live performances can’t be easy…it’s the best part!

France’s 2019 winter music festival schedule is one of the very best. Avoriaz ski resort, located just a stone’s throw from the Swiss city of Geneva, has been holding the Snowboxx electronic music festival there every year since 2013. This year’s dates are 23 to 30 March and artists include Craig David, Rudimental, Jax Jones, Wilkinson, Danny Howard and Yungen. A stunning stage with dreamy views and open-air music.
