STEVE AOKI AT USHUAÏA IBIZA BEACH HOTEL!

25 September, 2018

Steve Aoki is hot stuff right now. His sets are often combined with entertaining shows but it’s quality on the tables and as a producer that has rocketed him to one of the top spots in the world DJ ranking.

On 25 September next, Tomorrowland presents Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Garden of Madness will be drawing the curtain on the most successful sell-out season in the history of Ibiza. And, although Steve Aoki won’t be performing at the Garden of Madness Closing Party, he did share the stage with the Belgian brothers for five out of their fifteen hit shows in the 2018 season that’s now drawing to a close. His performances this summer included the most unexpected and vibrant gig of them all, the Opening Party of Tomorrowland, Garden of Madness, which you can read all about on The Blog.

The well-known DJ has toured the five continents with his hit sounds and has one of the most jam-packed touring calendars out there. He’s practically fully booked up for what’s left of 2018 and all of 2019.Aoki was born in Miami, United States and is of Japanese descent. In 2006, he launched his own fashion line together with his sister, he has his own record label and features among the top spots of the world’s DJ ranking. After graduating in Sociology from the University of California, he began his career as a music producer and his productions were so successful, they sparked off his incredible trajectory as a DJ. He has been through some tough and intense experiences in his private life, such as his father’s death in 2008 and the death by overdose of his great friend, DJ and producer Adam Goldstein (DJ AM), who not only had known Aoki since he was starting out, but had also collaborated in producing albums by Papa Roach, Madonna and Will Smith, among others. These losses had a deep impact on his lifestyle, as explored in the documentary “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead”, which can still be seen on Netflix now.

Steve Aoki holds two Guinness world records, one for reaching the highest number of glowsticks glowing for more than 30 seconds and another for keeping a crowd cheering for more than two and a half minutes -pure madness! And, because it couldn’t be any other way, all of his gigs at the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel during the 2018 summer season were resounding successes. Way to go, Aoki!
