Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, and specifically The Ushuaïa Club, was the setting for yet another year of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ibiza. In its third edition, the White Isle once again hosted the most important catwalk of this year´s cruise collections, with top national designers such as Alvarno, Andres Sarda, Juanjo Oliva, Roberto Diz, The 2nd Skin Co., and Dutch designer David Laport. This year, once again, music has been a fundamental part of the event, with the sound of Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano accompanying the star-studded event.
The Spanish fashion event took place in The Ushuaïa Club, the central nervous system of the Ibizan summer scene, where the most exclusive musical events in Ibiza are held practically every day between June and September. The parades over the swimming pool of Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel gave a new dimension to the event.
The warm sunset of the Mediterranean, the magic of the island´s nightlife and the visual storytelling projected onto the screens of the event made the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ibiza a unique and memorable 2019 evening. For the duration of the show, more than 800 guests were able to travel and enjoy a piece of Dutch craftsmanship at the hands of designer David Laport and his exquisite designs, all the while being provided with the best music and a fun evening courtesy of one of the best EDM has to offer, the duo Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. It was an event worthy of any international festival.

Andres Sarda, seducing Ibiza
Andres Sarda's lingerie and swimwear brand gave the day a sensual touch, with an aesthetic inspired by the Ibizan summer. Nautical inspired looks with crochet designs and geometrical patterns; fun, daring and accompanied by gold and brass accessories and TAG Heuer watches from the Monaco and Connected Edition Ushuaïa collection to experience Ibiza in all its glamour. To add to the magic of the night, Andres Sarda dazzled us again with a limited-edition bikini, inspired by the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel, a unique design with a braided knitted band and Swarovski crystals that only a few privileged ones will be able to wear this season.
Delicate Colors with The 2nd Skin Co.
The 2nd Skin Co. show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ibiza 2019 filled the catwalk with simple and delicate designs, with floral prints and flowing silhouettes that represent their gamble to fill the sunsets with color, versatility, and contrasts.
Roberto Diz, a vibrant premiere
In its first edition at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ibiza, designer Roberto Diz presented a very different collection that we´ve been accustomed to. Departing from his signature dark palette, Roberto Diz surprised us with vibrant, neon colours inspired by the urban tribes of the Balearic island. An original chromatic game, in which fabrics such as gauze, silk, lycra, and cotton are interwoven to embody the lifestyle of the modern Ibizan woman.
Juanjo Oliva, sustainability and conscious capitalism
Another premiere at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ibiza 2019 was that of Juanjo Oliva, with a collection inspired by the contrasts of the island and its architecture. A defender of sustainability, the designer opted for some recycled fabrics and a philosophy based on conscious purchasing and away from consumerism, which he sums up with the concepts "timeless, sustainability and contemporary state of mind".
David Laport, biology meets fashion
Dutch designer David Laport was inspired by the world's oldest trees, captured on film by American photographer Beth Moon, to create a feminine and organic collection. Under the term "superphotosynthesis", Laport brought together in his designs, nature through the lens of technology. Giving rise to modern, almost impossible structures, grandiose silhouettes in shades of red, mauve, silver and citrus in a dream-like collection.
Alvarno, bold and glamorous looks
The international duo formed by Arnaud Maillard and Álvaro Castejón closed this third edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ibiza 2019 with glamorous looks aimed at the new luxury nomads, the young at heart and fearless who dress accordingly. Tops, shorts, military jackets, minidresses, and long dresses are some of the pieces inspired by the brand's minimalist baroque, through matte, dusty colours such as beige, pink and sand, which contrast with the strength of navy blue, white and red.
